I'd bump into Jeff every now and then when I had to go to Mentor City Hall to cover this or that or at some function where the police were called out. Honestly, I was expecting he was going to be named Mentor's police chief. The guy had such an infectious smile and laugh. He never spoke down to anyone. I heard that his cancer was attributed to contact with Agent Orange during the war. What a terrible loss of a truly nice classmate.
