Bill Kochmit, 65, of Mentor passed away May 25, 2016.  He was born October 11, 1950 in Cleveland.

Bill was a parole officer with the State of Ohio for 35 years prior to his retirement in 2006.  After retiring he went to work at Leikin Motor Companies in Willoughby in the parts department.  He was an avid fisherman and a big sports fan.  He would spend a lot of his free time reading books and frequently went to the movies.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especailly with his sons, and coached many of their sports teams while they were growing up.

Surviving Bill is his wife, Janet; sons, Jared (fiancee Jessica Allen) Kochmit and Kyle Kochmit; brother, Edward Kochmit Jr.; mother in law, Jean Pawlikowski; and his sisters in law, Joyce (Tom) Pluth and JoAnn (Robert) Langham.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Edward Kochmit Sr. and Josephine Kochmit and his father in law Joseph Pawlikowski.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. May 29, 2016 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.

A memorial service to conclude the celebration will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
